Modern neuroscience tells us that the environment is not a passive backdrop but an active mental ally. The ZENZONE armchair is designed by applying the principles of Situated Cognition to transform physical space into an active support for practice. We often believe that meditation depends only on willpower. The truth is that the environment around us decides far more for us than we realise.

Physical space is not a passive backdrop, but a «silent neural partner» that directly influences mental processes. Having a dedicated, exclusive space allows the brain to create a robust Stimulus-Response map: sitting in ZENZONE becomes the automatic trigger of meditative practice, bypassing the effort of decision-making.

From Should to Want To

When you begin to meditate, the brain uses the Prefrontal Cortex: a flexible system that consumes significant energy and depletes under stress. ZENZONE's goal is to shift control to the Dorsolateral Striatum (DLS), the seat of automatic habits. The DLS needs stable signals to activate: by offering a unique and exclusive space, ZENZONE creates a robust Stimulus-Response map that bypasses the effort of decision-making.

Phase 1

Prefrontal Cortex

Initially meditation requires conscious effort. The prefrontal cortex is engaged.

Phase 2

Habit formation

With repetition, activity shifts to the Dorsolateral Striatum — the centre of automatic habit.

Phase 3

Dopaminergic trigger

The sight of ZENZONE releases dopamine. According to Hebb's Law, "neurons that fire together, wire together": once the habit is consolidated, the brain releases dopamine the moment you enter the dedicated space. Procrastination: zero.
